The Portuguese for Foreigners B1 Course is aimed at participants who wish to deepen and develop their communicative competence in Portuguese and who have basic knowledge of the language, which translates into being able to produce a simple and coherent speech on familiar topics or personal interest.
It is a course and it is intended to give all Mexican citizens and citizens of other nationalities the opportunity to learn Portuguese, get to know Brazil, a bit of Portugal and its culture, reaching an audience that otherwise would not do so.
Intercultural approaches that contemplate teaching and learning as a means and a process of knowing the other and, simultaneously, of oneself are privileged. Teaching and learning are aimed at promoting the Brazilian language and culture and the progressive construction of a multilingual and multicultural awareness.
OBJECTIVE
In general, at the end of this course, the student will be able to understand the main issues, when clear and standardized language is used and the issues are familiar to him (topics addressed at work, at school and in leisure time, etc.). You will be able to handle most situations encountered in the region where the target language is spoken. You will be able to produce a simple and coherent speech on matters that are familiar to you or of personal interest. You can describe experiences and events, dreams, hopes and ambitions, as well as briefly state reasons and justifications for an opinion or a project.

Apprentices must have basic knowledge of the language that translates into being able to produce, orally and in writing, a simple and coherent speech on family matters or personal interest. They should still be able to understand the main points of known issues, as long as clear language is used.
